The United Nations Information Centre Prague (UNIC) forms part of a global information network for the United Nations. It provides information about the activities, as well as the priority objectives of the organization, including specialized agencies and programs; has the role of representing the UN Secretariat in the Czech Republic; and builds partnerships with Government, state institutions, non-governmental organizations, schools, media and the private sector. As one of the first “branches” of the United Nations, UNIC Prague was founded in 1947.
The British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic has been working since 1997 to strengthen business ties between the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic, promoting trade, growth and the creation of new business opportunities. The Chamber’s membership encompasses a broad spectrum of over 200 British, Czech and international companies, and works closely with all of these members to provide individualised support and market expertise. The BCC promotes the interests of its member companies by encouraging trade, growth and business opportunities. They have two decades of experience forging commercial ties between the UK and the Czech Republic, and offer a wide range of services and events to improve the Czech business environment.
In 1993, a few individuals decided to take a stance against corruption and created Transparency International. Now present in more than 100 countries, the movement works relentlessly to stir the world’s collective conscience and bring about change. It shares one vision: a world in which government, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. Much remains to be done to stop corruption, but much has also been achieved.
The Czech Society of International Law (CSMP-CSIL) is a voluntary, non-profitorganization of academics and professionals in the field of international lawin the Czech Republic. The Society was established in 1993 as a successor of the Czechoslovak Society of International Law, acting under the auspices of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. The Society closely cooperates mainly withthe Czech Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) and with foreign societies of international law. The Society pursues its goals in particular inthe form of lectures and discussions, research conferences and by publishing
non-periodical books and periodicals.
The Czech Council on Foreign Relations (CCFR), founded in 1994, is a public, non-governmental association which creates an environment for joint reflection on the interconnectedness of our European and global existence. The RMV is a governmental body seeking to expand political, economic, cultural and social connections, as well as knowledge and education in international relations. Its aim is to promote the development of European political culture and understanding among nations, to contribute to overcoming of all forms of political, ethnic, religious or other hatred and to grow awareness of responsibility for development in the world.
The Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation covers quite a broad range of interests and activities. The Foundation priorities are activities in the cultural field and medical assistance. In the spirit of its name, the Foundation’s endeavours and objectives are geared to the future, while not neglecting certain burning issues of the present. The Foundation’s activity is profoundly meaningful because by supporting causes which will be appreciated in the course of time, those that are pioneering and visionary and often regarded by society as unimportant or marginal, as something that is still premature and not worth considering. The Foundation’s projects seek to counter such short-sightedness and remedy it. That is also part of its mission and its indispensable role.

Jagello 2000, a civic association, is the top Czech subject in the field of communication strategy of the membership in the North Atlantic Alliance and of security policy generally. It also participates in projects focused on the European Union. The main purpose of the Association is to inform the public about security politics and transatlantic relations.
Czech Development Agency is a state organisation under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and an implementing body of the development cooperation of the Czech Republic. The main aims of the Czech Development Agency include reducing poverty, improving quality of life and supporting sustainable development.
The Investment and Business Development Agency CzechInvest is a state contributory organization subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The agency arranges for the Czech Republic both domestic and foreign investments in the areas of manufacturing, business support services and technology centers. It also supports small, medium-sized and innovative start-up companies, the country’s business infrastructure, and innovation.
